The John Cooper Award is presented each year to a swimming official who has given service to Somerset County over a number of years. The award is in memory of John Cooper, who refereed at international level during the 1990s, served as Somerset ASA President in 1994, South West ASA President in 2005, and represented the South West’s officials on the national committee for a number of years. The first award was a year after his death in 2014, with current and previous awardees as follows:
