Young Volunteer Awards

Young Volunteer

Young volunteers are the future of our sport. Your County promotes, supports and offers grants for programmes which help Clubs to develop the skills and experience needed by Young Volunteers, Coaches and Officials.

Contact Kelly Podbury, County Volunteer Co-ordinator (sasameetmanager@outlook.com) if you have training needs. Contact Fiona Bowen (fiona@bowenfamily.me.uk) to enquire about Club Development funding.

Volunteering can give you skills and experience which could be valuable for your future career.

Recognition

Sarah Pusill (Burnham on Sea Swimming Club) became the youngest appointed County President in our history during 2009 in recognition of her work as a young volunteer at both club and County level. Sarah, with the County’s support, introduced during her year a trophy to be awarded annually to young volunteers from clubs across the County to recognise their achievements. The trophy is supported by second and third place prizes and the winners are announced annually at the Annual General Meeting of the Association.
